Questions we get asked.
My computer is five years old. Is it worth repairing?
Often yes — an SSD and a clean reinstall can make a five-year-old machine feel new for a fraction of the cost of replacing it. But if the board or screen has failed and the part costs more than the machine is worth, we will tell you to replace it.
Can you recover my data?
We will try, and we will tell you the realistic chance before you spend anything. A drive that is corrupted but spinning is usually recoverable. One that is clicking or not detected at all may need a specialist lab, and we will say so rather than charging you to find out.
Do I need an AMC, or can I just call when something breaks?
If you have a handful of machines and no shared data, calling when something breaks is reasonable. If you have a server, a network, cameras, or staff who cannot work when a machine is down, an AMC usually costs less over a year than the emergencies it prevents. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in.
Will you work on machines you did not supply?
Yes. Most of our work is on equipment somebody else sold or installed.
How quickly can you come?
That depends on your location and the work. Tell us how urgent it is and we will give you a realistic time, not an optimistic one.
Do you charge for the assessment?
Telling you what is wrong costs nothing. We quote before we do the work, and parts and licences are always listed separately from labour.
